Dudhwa National Park

The Dudhwa Tiger Reserve includes the Dudhwa National Park, and two nearby Sanctuaries, viz. Kishanpur and Katerniaghat are close to the Indo-Nepal border in the Palia and Nighasan tehsil of district Lakhimpur-Kheri.

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is a vast alluvial plain and is the doab of Mohana and Suheli rivers. The under-lying soil consists of an alluvial formation of the Gangetic plains.

The Park consists of dense forests of Sal, mixed moist forest, riparian communities, and tall wet grasslands. Grasslands cover 20% of the total area, and interspersed in these grasslands are several swamps, a number of species found 91+ different types of trees, shrubs, climbers, grass and grasslands, and aquatic plants. Endangered fauna found one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, Bengal tiger, Asian Elephant, leopard, sloth bear, hispid hare, gharial, and Bengal florican

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) is divided into 5 Zones.

• The Dudhwa Safari Zone (open grasslands, and Tiger and Asiatic Elephant Sightings).
• The Sonaripur Safari Zone ( One-Horned Rhinoceros sightings).
• The Kishanpur Safari Zone (Tiger’s sightings and birding).
• The Katarniaghat Safari Zone (Tigers, Crocodiles, Dolphins, Boating, and sprawling Grasslands).
• The  Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is one of the top 10 National Park.
